I wasn’t sure if I’d have enough to say when I started blogging… but I always think of something and I enjoy it. There’s definitely something to be said for trying it if you’re unsure.

Me either Polenth. I figured I’d never find enough to talk about even on a weekly basis. And now I’m beginning to regularly blog twice a week, with a third post creeping in occasionally too.

Blogging can be a joy and it can be a pain. As I move into my second year of blogging, I know both is true. I hope you continue to find it fun even when it isn’t.

Thanks! I hope so too! I never expected to enjoy it, but I really do, even on the days when I don’t feel like I have anything to say.

Just remember that page hits only tell you how many people looked at the page that day, and not how many of them liked it, or were attracted by the post…something very good may only garner a couple hits, if your regular readers happen to all be running late for work and trim their morning internet routine, or something substance-free could get lucky with a tag or a link and send the stats through the roof.

I think my highest page-visit count is still the day that I blogged about shaving with my girlfriend’s razor. The internet does have weird people, I grant, but I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say that it’s full of people who are actually that interested in my morning ablutions…

While I agree in principle, I think it is an indication, particularly for more recent pages (individual posts not the home page) since all of them are clearly viewable from the homepage, so if someone clicks on a post it’s most likely that they liked it (or at least it interested them). Particularly since I believe you get clicks when someone posts a comment. Not totally sure about the mechanics of that though.
